Our Costa Rican coffees come from Tierre Madre. This was the first certified organic coffee grown in Costa Rica. While Costa Rica remains one of the most "modern" chemically intensive coffee growing nations on earth, the group of farmers whose beans comprise Tierra Madre have shunned these popular techniques and opted to cultivate their crops organically. The growers use a combination of organic growing practices such as shade canopies, composting, mulching, and biological insect control to produce excellent coffee. The coffee is collected from approximately 30 farmers scattered throughout one of the finest coffee growing regions in Costa Rica. This coffee has been certified organic since 1990 by OCIA.
Our Costa Rican is a darker richer coffee with an intense flavor. It leaves the spicy after taste typical of good Costa Rican coffee. Costas are distinctly different coffees frequently used by roasters to intensify the flavors of milder beans. We are certain that you will like this coffee.

This is medium dark roast. Roasted long enough to produce the dark tones and rich oily coating on the beans need for a true Espresso. Perfect for those who want their latte's to be flavorful and healthful.

This is the traditional dark smoky flavored coffee beloved by the French. Our roast delivers the rich dark taste that is expected of French Roast.
Fair Trade Organic Guatamalan - 12 oz.
Our Guatmalan coffees come from the Lake Atitilan area. This coffee is grown on the flanks of the volcanoes surrounding the lake. All the coffee is classified Strictly High Grown (SHG) and is grown over 1500 meters above sea level. This coffee is grown and processed by a collective of over 100 farmers. The majority of the coffee is grown under shade trees, and other farms are converting back to the use of shade trees after 20 years of erroneous advice from Guatamalan Agricultural agencies. After watching tons of topsoil wash down into the lake, nearly all farmers have reintroduced shade trees to prevent further erosion. This coffee is a classic fully-washed, sun-dried arabica. It is medium-bodied with above-average acidity, a bright sweet cup with a slightly floral background. Certified by Quality Assurance International (QAI.)
Our Guatamalan is a medium roast with a light flavor and low acid.
